HOW TO BOOK THIS DEAL:
First, please read all of the information below to make sure that a "mini" newborn session is the right fit for you, as they do differ from full newborn sessions. If after reading the descriptions below you feel it's a good fit, then go ahead and select your desired option from the dropdown menu above (the two options are: baby-only, or baby + family), and then click "Add To Cart". Once your selection has been added to your shopping cart then proceed to checkout and complete your purchase. Once you have completed your purchase Amber will reach out to you either the same day or the very next day (you are guaranteed to hear from her within 24 hours) at the email address you provided during checkout, to schedule your actual session day/time. We will be sure to find a day/time that works for your family. If your baby has not been born yet we will still go ahead and schedule your session day/time, we will schedule it for approximately 2 weeks past your expected due date. (If you end up going into labor much sooner than your due date, or significantly past your due date, that is not a problem, just let Amber know and we can readjust your session date accordingly, if needed.)

Can I book this Mini Newborn deal if my baby has already been born?
YES! If your baby has already been born that is not a problem, as long as they are still under 6 weeks of age, which is the maximum age for mini newborn sessions.

------------------------------

WHAT IS A MINI NEWBORN SESSION?
Mini newborn sessions are 45 minutes long and baby will be wrapped/swaddled for the entire session. If baby is super sleepy during our session time then we can attempt to pull some of their extremities out of the wrap (ie hands/feet), but they will still remain partially-wrapped. (See the photos for examples of fully-wrapped versus partially-wrapped.) It's important to understand that baby will only be partially-unwrapped (feet &/or hands pulled out of wrap) if they are sleeping deeply enough to do so without disturbing them to the point of waking. If they are not sleeping deeply enough and they become agitated, then they will need to remain fully-wrapped for the session. Because mini newborn sessions are only 45 minutes long (compared to full sessions which can range between 2-4 hours), we must continue shooting whether baby is asleep or awake, which is why remaining wrapped/swaddled is important in order to keep baby settled, even if they are awake. Baby should be under 6 weeks old for a mini newborn session.

------------------------------

HOW MUCH VARIETY CAN YOU GET IN A WRAPPED-ONLY MINI SESSION?
A good amount! Amber has a large variety of different wraps, layers, props, backgrounds, blankets, hats, & headbands, at her studio. She will discuss with you ahead of time what colors you like and any preferences you might have, and when you arrive to your session she will already have 4-5 different setups ready to go, based on those preferences you gave. That way once baby is wrapped they can be placed into each setup without too much disruption. Baby will have a base wrap that will not be removed, only the outer wrap will be swapped out in order to fit the color/theme of each setup, as well as their hat/headband can be changed to match each setup. So as you can see, we are still able to achieve a nice amount of variety in these mini newborn sessions, even with keeping baby wrapped the entire time.

------------------------------

WHO/WHAT ALL IS INCLUDED IN A MINI NEWBORN SESSION?
These 45-minute Mini Newborn Sessions are meant for baby-only. If you would like to add on parent &/or sibling photos then there will be an additional $50 added to the session fee, and you'll receive an additional 15 minutes of session time in order to complete the desired family photos (making the session 1-hour total). Baby will remain wrapped for all family images as well solo images. During your mini newborn session you will also have access to the lifestyle room which has the bed setup, the egg chair, and the window - which are great options if you are adding family photos onto your mini session.

------------------------------

HOW MANY IMAGES ARE INCLUDED IN A MINI NEWBORN SESSION?

For baby-only (45-min):
You will receive 8 fully-retouched high resolution digital images, delivered within a week after your session. Printing rights included. With mini newborn sessions the photographer selects the 8 images that you will receive, however you can make requests on what you're hoping for ahead of time to help guide Amber's decision-making when selecting those 8 images.

For baby + family (1-hour):
You will receive 10 fully-retouched high resolution digital images, as well as the 15-extra minutes of session time (totaling 1-hour). Printing rights included. Again, with mini newborn sessions the photographer will be selecting which 10 images you receive, but you're welcome to make requests on what you're hoping for with those 10 images, to help guide the photographer as she makes those 10 selections. (For example, if you'd like 4 of your 10 images to be from the family photo portion, you'd let Amber know ahead of time so that she selects the final 10 images according to your preferences).

(If you'd like more images than 8-10, or if you'd like to be the one selecting which images you receive and not the photographer, please consider booking a Full Newborn Session, instead of a Mini Newborn Session. More information can be found about those full sessions on Amber's main website: www.amberwebbphoto.com. See below for a detailed comparison between Mini vs Full Newborn Sessions.)

HOW IS A MINI NEWBORN SESSION DIFFERENT FROM A FULL NEWBORN SESSION?

Session Length:
Mini newborn sessions last approx 45min (1-hour with family add-on), whereas Amber's full newborn sessions can last 2-4 hours. Full newborn sessions allow extra time for soothing and feeding breaks, which can be needed to achieve the heavily sleeping baby that is necessary to achieve the intricate posing that is done during full sessions. Babies need to be sleeping deeply in order to be posed leaning on the edge of a bucket!

Feeding Baby:
With the mini newborn session baby will need to be fed just prior to you arriving for your session, as mini sessions do not have time for feedings mid-session. In contrast, with a full newborn session there is time for breaks and additional feedings during the session itself, if needed.

Wrapped vs Unwrapped:
In a mini session baby remains wrapped the entire session, with only the outer wrap being swapped out in between setups, whereas in a full session there are a variety of poses done both wrapped as well as completely unwrapped, or with baby wearing different outfits.

Posing:
There is less emphasis on perfect positioning of baby's hands during these mini-wrapped newborn sessions. If baby is sleeping deeply enough then I will attempt to perfect their hands because that is just my preference, but if doing so causes them to become unsettled then they will either be tucked into the wrap or left as baby wishes them to be. In contrast, with a full newborn session there is a great deal of emphasis placed on perfecting their hand placemen, as well as very intricate posing techniques attempted (ie baby posed on the edge of a bucket or basket, or chin on hands in the froggy pose, etc).

Props/Accessories/Backdrops:
Everything in the studio is available for use during either type of session, however with the mini newborn session the photographer will be pre-selecting 4 different setups for the baby, that will be ready to go at the start of the session, along with a matching wrap for each setup and a headband or hat that matches each setup (unless the parents do not want these accessories used). Amber will discuss your color preferences and other desires ahead of time, to help guide her choices with these 4 setups. With a full newborn session there are many more setups than just 4, as well as table posing and lifestyle posing. There are typically more accessory changes done during full sessions to increase variety.

Images Received & Image Selection Process:
With a mini newborn session you are automatically receiving a set number of images (8 or 10), and the photographer will be selecting which final images the client receives. The client can give input on what they're hoping for, but ultimately the photographer decides on the final images that will be received. A full newborn session differs greatly, as the client will receive a proofing gallery where they get to select their own images, so they are in control and they get to decide which images are their favorite and how many of them they'd like to purchase from their session.

Pricing:
Mini newborn sessions are much lower in price compared to full newborn sessions due to all of the differences listed above (shorter session length, less variety, not as intricate of posing, photographer selects the images not the client, etc). With mini newborn sessions the full amount of the session fee must be paid up front. A full newborn session it is much different, with those sessions the client pays an initial retainer to book the session, but then they'll be purchasing their images separately after their session, once they view their proofing gallery and decide how many favorites they have that they want to purchase.

Age of Baby:
For mini newborn sessions, because baby stays wrapped during these sessions we can extend baby's maximum age up to 6 weeks. Whereas with full newborn sessions baby needs to be younger. With full sessions it is best to do those while baby is under 3 weeks of age. Due to the complexity/intricacy of the posing done in full newborn sessions, and how babies tend to mold easier & sleep better the younger they are, it is best to do full newborn sessions while baby is under 3 weeks of age.
